Privacy policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
This policy explains how DeBiasio Consulting ("we", "us") handles personal information when you visit www.mauro-debiasio.com. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and, where they apply, other privacy laws such as the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation.
Information we collect
- Enquiries. When you use the contact form we collect your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message. We use it only to respond to you and keep a record of the conversation.
- Usage statistics. Our own statistics record which pages and articles are viewed, which buttons are used (for example starting or sending an enquiry), the referring source and your country. To count unique visitors without storing your IP address, we keep a one-way hash of it, made with a secret value, so the IP address cannot be read back. These records do not include your name or email address and are not combined with other data about you. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, these statistics are only collected after you consent through the privacy message.
- Account data. If you sign in to the private areas of the site, the sign-in provider shares a user identifier and display name with us so we can manage your profile.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site and our partners use them to keep the site working, measure how it is used and, where enabled, show advertising.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are viewed and how visitors arrive. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes data such as your IP address, device and browser information. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Google AdSense advertising
We use Google AdSense to show advertisements on some pages. In particular:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info or www.youronlinechoices.eu.
- For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics and advertising cookies are disabled by default (using Google Consent Mode) and Google's consent message asks for your choice before they are used. You can change your choice at any time with the Privacy settings link in the site footer.

Managing cookies
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. If you block cookies, the articles will still work, but some features and ad personalisation will not.
How we use and share information
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, run and improve the site, keep it secure and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers that host or support the site (such as Microsoft Azure for hosting and data storage, and Google for analytics and advertising), or when the law requires it.
Overseas storage
Our service providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where they operate. We choose providers with appropriate security and privacy commitments.
Retention and security
We keep enquiry information only as long as we need it to respond to you and keep business records, then delete it. Usage statistics are deleted automatically 12 months after they are recorded. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, but no internet service is completely secure.
Your rights
You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights, such as objecting to processing or asking for a copy of your data. To make a request or a complaint, email mauro@debiasio-consulting.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Children
This site is written for business and technology professionals. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
